BP Oil Spill Stopped

Although not directly related to our website's mandate, I would like to announce that BP has reported that oil from its broken well has finally stopped. Currently BP is testing pressures to see if they can sustain the right oil pressure within the well. If it can be sustained, the leak will remain plugged. If the pressure builds too high, they will have to re-open the well to reduce pressure.

Family of Harry Potter Actress Afshan Azad Charged Over Kill Threats - Possible Honour Killing Attempt?

The father and brother of Afshan Azad have been charged with threatening to kill her in her Manchester home after discovery that she was with a Hindu man.

Abdul Azad, 52, and brother Ashraf, 28 are both Muslims, and although the details of the alleged threats are not clear, the potential role of religion in this case has raised questions about the men's motivation.

Christopher Hitchens diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer

Christopher Hitchens has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer and is now undergoing chemotherapy.

In a statement he released, he reveals:
I have been advised by my physician that I must undergo a course of chemotherapy on my esophagus. This advice seems persuasive to me. I regret having had to cancel so many engagements at such short notice.

The 5 year survival rate of esophageal cancer is 15% to 24%.

Here is a collection of twenty different G20 photo streams I've put together during this G20 Summit meeting in Toronto on the June 26th, 2010 weekend. Each has a link to the original photo stream they were collected from.

It is important to note that a large majority of protesters were friendly with legitimate messages. It was a few hundred anarchists using black bloc tactics which incited the majority violence.
