Hi, I'm Flat Lander

I come from a Mormon background having been active in Mormonism for nearly 20 years and having been a member for about 22 years. I resigned from COJCOLDS (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) in 2009, but was kidnapped and impressed into the Moron Church of Latter-day Saints where we seek loud laughter and "all lightmindedness" in following the false traditions of our fathers.

I am active on a number of PostMormon and ExMormon discussion boards and have visited a few atheist places in the past and am thinking of hanging out on some atheist boards a little more often. I found this board through the REDDIT atheist board.

I had the fun experience of going to an Atheist Group in-person meetup about two weeks ago, and that was quite enjoyable (even though it was a 100-mile drive each way) and that is in part what has inspired me to again reach out to find like-minded folks.

Hey Flat Lander, welcome to our forum! I had a university professor that was an ex-mormon, he told us about some of their beliefs such as the different 'levels' of heaven. Most of the class had a good laugh.

I have a thread in the Religion section entitled "Mormons are Normal and Mainstream - The Video" that you might enjoy if you find some of the Mormon nonsense to be humorous.

Thank you (and Blondin) for the welcome. I'll try to visit often. There are a lot of forums to this board, so it is a little overwhelming. I hope folks aren't real persnickety if at some point I post something in a forum that they think belongs in another forum. (Of course, the Introductions was one I could handle pretty well.
