Default Response to Dawkins call to arms

After listening to Dawkins last speech at Ted, I felt it resounded deeply with me. For those of you who may have missed it, it can be found here.

Dawkins, although a brilliant scientist, I believe he suggests the wrong path. He suggest militant atheism in the form of studies, searching for more information to promote our cause. This is how scientists argue; if you can't convince them with the first pass, continue to build a mountain of supporting evidence. This evidence however has existed and has been published for years. It has for the the most part been ignored by theists. They tend to pick and choose the information they wish.

In evaluating what path is correct, we must see that theists exploit our open doors. Atheists are frequently critical thinkers are open to information both for and against opinions. How else could we form an accurate view of anything? This method is exploited the armies of the nations religions. Look at the frequency of religious twats who get on here beginning a conversation with "what do you believe, why, let me tell you about my god. etc etc" So we listen. We nod. We shake our heads and spend precious time refuting points until one of us gives up and we both go our ways.

Atheism is a decision or selection that it is astronomically statistically improbable that any god exists. However, our open doors to new information is wasting our time. Let me also propose the is statistically improbable that any human on this planet has physical irrefutable evidence for the existence of any god AND any time spent catering to these arguments are both a waist and an encouragement for pursuit by the opposite parties.

It is time to stop respecting religion. Tolerance has never been shown to us and I hope it is shown no tolerance. I realize closing the doors to new information opens the gate to the possibility that I may not find the one person who has proof of god, but I am okay with that risk as it should afford more time to prepare for the conflict at hand and the eventual dismantling of religion in general. Future dealings should not be as equal ideas but as dealing with a child or mental invalid.

    Hi, tyme.

I think if anybody ever makes a truly logical, irrefutable, independently supportable case for the existence of a god we'll hear about it.
