The father and brother of Afshan Azad have been charged with threatening to kill her in her Manchester home after discovery that she was with a Hindu man.

A 13-story Islamic complex may soon begin construction approximately two blocks away from the site of the September 11th attacks in lower Manhattan. The building, called Cordoba House, is meant to be a world-class facility that promotes 'tolerance', according to the project's official website. Cordoba, refers to the city in Spain which was the centre of Islamic culture and learning in the middle ages.

The music video below by M.I.A, titled Born Free, was accidentally leaked onto the internet recently. It has left many people asking questions, such as: "What does it mean?" and "Why are they wearing American uniforms with American flags?" Most people conclude that it has to do with genocide and it provides an alternative look at genocide from a perspective never seen before. Some of the YouTube commenters of this video have argued that America has been untouched by genocide, meanwhile others correct them by citing numerous examples such as the Aboriginals being cleansed from their land.

Richard Dawkins has began planning a legal ambush to have Pope Benedict XVI arrested during his visit to Britain. The charge? "crimes against humanity".

Both Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens have been working with human rights lawyers to produce a case for charging the Pope after he has allegedly covered up a history of sexual abuse in the Catholic church.

Canadian woman being held against her will in Saudi Arabia

As reported by the Coast, Nazia Quazi, a 24-year-old, Indian-born Canadian citizen, has been held against her will in Saudi Arabia since November 2007. So far, the Canadian embassy has not attempted to intervene on her behalf.

In 2007, while visiting her boyfriend in Dubai, her parents learned of her trip and flew to intervene. They brought her to Saudi Arabia via India. As an unmarried woman, the Saudi government will not issue an exit visa to Nazia without her father's authorization, which he refuses to give.
